Liminal Tarot ("Liminal Tarot," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Dream Atlas Studio. Dream Atlas Studio is the data controller for personal information processed through the Services.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our website, applications, and related services, including liminaltarot.com and any associated mobile experience (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you:
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services that may be linked from the Services.
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
We may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:
We may receive information from third parties, including:
We use personal information for the following purposes:
Depending on your location and the nature of the processing, our legal bases for processing personal information may include:
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us, though this will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Some features of Liminal Tarot generate outputs using a third-party AI service.
We use Google Gemini / Google Generative AI to generate tarot readings and Chapter synthesis. When you generate a reading, we send the information needed to create it — such as your question or intention, selected spread, drawn cards, and reading preferences — to Google Gemini for processing.
When you generate a Chapter synthesis, the request may include the Chapter name, selected readings in that Chapter, previous reading summaries, and your reading question text. If you choose to include your notes by enabling the "include my notes" toggle on the synthesis screen, those notes may also be sent for that synthesis request. Notes are not sent to Gemini unless you opt in.
Daily journal entries are stored for your own reflection and are not sent to Gemini for reading generation.
If your question appears to involve immediate self-harm or crisis language, the app shows crisis resources instead of sending that question to the AI model.
AI processing may occur in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including the United States or other countries where Google operates. The specific Gemini model used may change over time as we improve the Services. We do not use your private reading content to train our own models, and we do not sell your personal data. Google may process submitted content under its own terms, policies, and safety rules, and may retain submitted content for a limited period in accordance with its API data retention practices. You should avoid submitting information that you do not want processed for the purpose of generating an AI response.
Paid subscriptions and related payment transactions are handled by third-party payment and subscription providers, including Stripe for web purchases, Apple in-app purchase for iOS purchases, Google Play Billing for Android purchases, and RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management. We receive limited information related to your subscription, such as customer IDs or platform identifiers, subscription status, billing period information, product identifiers, and transaction metadata needed to operate the Services and manage support. We do not store your full payment card number.
We may share personal information only as reasonably necessary in the following circumstances:
We do not sell your personal information.
We may use and share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. Such information is not subject to this Privacy Policy.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain account functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention may vary by data type. For example:
If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, except where we are required or permitted to retain certain data by law or for legitimate operational purposes.
Liminal Tarot provides tools to manage or remove parts of your content.
Depending on the feature, you may be able to:
Subscriptions are not cancelled by account deletion. Deleting your Liminal account deletes your account data from Liminal, but it does not cancel subscriptions managed by Apple, Google Play, or Stripe. You must cancel those subscriptions through the relevant store or billing portal.
If you need help with deletion or privacy-related requests, contact hello@liminaltarot.com.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
Liminal Tarot is operated from Singapore. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than the country in which you live, including the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers and infrastructure providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, to support the lawful transfer of personal information across borders.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
These rights are not absolute and may depend on applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Services after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means the updated Privacy Policy applies going forward.
