Major Arcana
Strength is the card of quiet power — courage held with tenderness, and influence exercised without force.

Strength points to a form of power that does not need to announce itself. It often appears when courage is required, but not the dramatic kind; more often, it is the steady strength involved in staying present, speaking carefully, or meeting difficulty without hardening into it. Compassion matters here, as does persuasion and influence rooted in trust rather than control. In relationships, work, or private struggle, this card reflects the ability to handle intensity without being ruled by it, and to remain soft enough to see clearly while still holding your ground.
Reversed
Reversed, Strength often reflects the draining effect of carrying more than you can metabolize cleanly. Self-doubt may start to distort your sense of capacity, making ordinary effort feel like proof of weakness rather than a response to strain. This card can also point to insecurity, low energy, or raw emotion rising faster than you can shape it into language. What looks like losing control is sometimes something simpler and more human: you are tired, overstretched, and less able than usual to meet the moment with your usual steadiness.
Strength is also compassion — especially self-compassion. Today, extend to yourself the grace you would offer a close friend.
